Question Domestic Violence Missouri
My question involves criminal law for the state of: missouri. last december i was convicted of a misdemenor domestic assault charge which ended up giving me two years of probation which if i do something wrong, i go to jail for 30 days. i do believe i can still legally purchase firearms because my probation papers said nothing regarding firearms, and i had my name ran at a gun shop and i passed. my question is when i turn 21 even though i can get rifles now, will i be able to get a conceal to carry permit and buy a pistol? the reason i am askin is because i have always wanted to be a game warden since i was young, but i have no reason to go to college to study it, if i cannot ever have a conceal to carry because as im sure you all know, all game wardens must carry firearms for safety. i have no other convictions of any kind other than a speeding ticket that did not go to court. thank you

Such a conviction will disqualify you. If you already have firearms in your possession, you'll want to rectify that situation, lest additional penalties be applied.

See the BATF FAQ on firearm possession and domestic violence convictions at:

thank you for you input. i read the link and i noted number 12 but did not fully understand it
Quote:
12. In determining whether a conviction in a State court is a "conviction" of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, does Federal or State law apply?
State law applies. If a conviction for a qualifying misdemeanor does not occur under State law, the person has not been "convicted" of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. The law states that a person must be convicted of a State misdemeanor to be under firearms disabilities. Therefore, if the State does not consider the person to be convicted, the person would not have Federal firearms disabilities.
i think i am under this category otherwise why would i have passed to buy a firearm? can you please help me understand number 12 thank you again
