In rereading your posts, I want to clarify something.

You will be on the hook for support only from that moment that paternity is established.

If they are looking for a DNA sample (and a court can order you to give one), that has not yet been done.

I really doubt that you will have arrears to pay. However, from the moment the DNA establishes you as the father in a court of law, the meter starts.

I've said the same thing in other threads, albeit with different terminology.

When you stuck it in her, you made the choice.

    Period.

    End of story.

    Even if.
    Hey....

I think I have trademarked the "Even if" line....

Just left my paperwork around here somewhere....

So is this true of Massachusetts as well? That I won't be responsible for retro support until paternity is established? Now I realize I'm really ticking off a few people here with my questions however I'd also like to know if I can avoid or prolong the process of paternity establishment? Example is that I have legal residency in Florida but conception took place in Massachusetts.

    No.....

You don't get to avoid it in the hopes that the court will forget about you. If you make an obvious attempt to ignore the court order in your hot little hands, you will be found in contempt.

You have been served. Get an attorney if you want to fight. The fight will be in Mass.

And notice that I used the words "doubt you will have to pay". If you hack off the judge enough by trying to weasel out of the debt you obviously owe the CHILD, he/she will come down on you like the wrath of God.

Just be a man and pay what you owe. It is not your child's fault that you didn't plan this out. The child doesn't stop needing to eat because it is inconvenient for you.

You are not penalizing the mother. You are penalizing the child.

Now I stated I was in fact served however the documents were served to my address in FL, AKA my parents home and they received the notice for me. Does this constitute me actually being served? Also, do I have to show up in person or can I have my attorney fight this for me?

Those are questions best asked of your attorney.

Thank you, I just figured I would ask in the event you may know the answer. By the way, out of curiousity, what is your own legal background, if any?

Maybe you'll know whether it will be hard for them to determine my income since I work for myself? admittedly I am paid under the table for some things but I do have some assets listed in my own name as well as my corporation. Could I be forced to liquidate and if I am the only employee of my corporation can business assets be included?
