Default Suspension of License Due to Failure to Pay Child Support

My question involves child support in the State of: Illinois

Hello - I have the state assisting me to obtain child support. I started this process back in Feb 08 (for the second time). The NCP pays $50.00 per month (cs 520.00) so he is not "in contempt" of court so needless to say he has a bunch of arrearages. He has applied for a modification back in March (which I am still waiting for a court date from the Attorney General).

His girlfriend (she and I are on friendly terms) just told me that NCP said "that Bi*** is trying to have my license revoked". Ok, now I do realize that if he doesn't pay that this could happen. He did get a DUI in April but had his DUI attorney plead down so it wouldn't appear on his record.

Now comes the question, could the state be trying to revoke his license because of the past due/current cs, or could it be really be just the DUI. I guess I am surprised that I haven't received any paperwork from the State that they were going to the next step (even before the modification hearing) and his DUI attorney is the one that came to him and told him about the state revoking him.

If I didn't make this clear, let me know. I do realize that it a bit odd. I just was seeing if anyone with their expertise could tell me which way they would lean.

    Thanks a million!

The state CSE doesn't always inform the CP every step they take for enforcement, so it could be either one.

You should ask your caseworker if they are in the process of sending notice to suspend DL.

Just an update....I called the customer service center for the State of IL, and they state that they have NOT started pursuing the suspension of his license. I double checked to see if maybe the file isn't updated, and she told me the file gets updated first. So... I guess he doesn't want people knowing about his DUI, so he has to blame it on someone...ME...

And I found out that we will have a date for the modification any time now since the paperwork is at the courthouse. (just a little fyi)

Xena - Thanks for your help. I REALLY appreciate your thoughts on this.
