    Question Withdraw Admission

Could someone please tell me what's "withdrawal admission" mean? Does that prejudice one's future application for a visa to the U.S.? If the reason for inadmissibility was through bad advise or misinformation and have inadvertently arrived with inadequate documents or an improper visa.

Do you mean you attempted to enter the country under questionable circumstances, and were given permission to withdraw your application to enter and return home? That would be noted in your immigration history, and may cause greater scrutiny for future visits, but it wouldn't of itself carry a penalty or period of ineligibility.

I traveled on a valid student visa but not for the purpose i.e tourist (pleasure) due to misinformation. The student visa was left intact and I was allowed to withdraw application for admission. But only recently I tried applying for a tourist visa and I followed the form where it said "have I ever been refused admission to U.S." and I answered yes. And now it's been 1 whole year since I'm waiting for a reply from the Embassy. They keep telling me they are waiting for a clearance from Washington. I even had my fingerprints sent for administrative procedure and paid the $85 fee. I want to follow the procedures and get everything right.

I want to know where do I stand. Now with my professional career, I feel I am being denied this privilege to even visit the U.S. as a bona fide non-immigrant. Any advice? Thanks!

That's the "greater scrutiny" I was talking about. Sorry, but you'll have to put up with the delay.
