Default Friend Joking with Me or for Real?

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

My friend have been caught shoplifting 3 weeks ago (I think), and yes he was taken to the back, and yes he was given a citation, and YES, unfortuately I was WITH him, except I wasn't charged with anything. I was told to wait outside for a hour or two for him, he got a citation, and that was end of that. My friend said that he told the LPs that I was involved in this, so now when I go back to the store, they are going to do the same thing to me like what they did to him. I dont know if he is joking or if he is serious, but if I was no part of this, can they still press charge against me for something, because I was with him?

If I say Yes, would you be mad? I am kinda sensitive about this, because I want to go to good college. I have high GPA and SAT score, so I dont want this crap holding me back because of my friend. BTW, my friend got Deferred Adjuctinari summthing....And alot of you are probably asking me why do I hang around with him, well I been knowing him far as I can remember, and hes my next door neighbor.

Find new friends. By the way what of the return fraud issue? that could cause you problems. Listen if he named you he really isnt a friend besides we hav eno way of knowing. If you get a call, letter or, visit from Police you will know. I somehow doubt this is case and if it was they clearly dont have any evidence against since they did not bring you in office so relax.
