Battery That Deals with a Non-Citizen
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois.
My friend lives with 2 other roommates. One of which last month coated his food with Ipetac. This is the substance doctors use to empty stomachs in case of poisoning. It basically causes the person to vomit out the entire contents of their stomach.
This has been the last of a long string of 'pranks' on my friend, which I'm sure that's what he thought of it. My friend took the half-filled Ipeatc bottle and kept it with me for safekeeping, which I still have wrapped up in a plastic baggie.
A day later my friend filed a police report with the city under battery, stating what happened. This police report has not been brought to the roommates attention.
To top it off, the roommate in question is not even an American citizen.
As of course my friend no longer feels safe in his own apartment, I was wondering what legal rammifications the roommate could get into, worst-case. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
