    Default Emancipation In North Carolina

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: North Carolina
I'm 17 years old (18 in march), and i just finished junior year. Shortly after, i obtained my GED. I've already had two jobs during junior year, one of 6 months, and another of 2 months. I'm not currently working, though i plan on beginning the process of emancipation in the next month or two. My parents are divorced, because my dad cheated on my mother. I get along with them great, i hop around from household to household. I talked to them about getting emancipated, so i could go to college and live freely, and they both agreed. I plan on living with my father and attending a college close to him, and to assist him with the rent.
Is there any grounds for this? Could i still live with my father and still gain my independence? Would i need to get a job before i consider going through the process of emancipation?

First, use the search function at the top of the page. Search for "emancipation".

Then, you will see that it isn't even worth talking about if you don't have a job and are planning to live with your father.

I don't even understand why it would be important to you to be emancipated if you are living with your father anyway.

Student loans will still look to your parents' income...
