15 - 26 Online Relationship

My question involves criminal law for the province of: Ontario, Canada

My question involves a relationship I was previously involved in that I didn't really realize was kind of "odd" until I got out of it. I browsed to a bondage matchmaking site when I was 15 and set up and account, there I was contacted by a man I assume believed I was 18 (although I had a picture up) and we started a relationship. I informed him a week after meeting him of my actual age and the relationship progressed from there. I was 15 he was 26. The relationship lasted for 5 years and involved pornography from my end from the start, pornography I believe he still has. Obviously since it was a bondage website there was also a dominant/submissive element to the entire relationship.

Is what we did criminal? Does this make him a sex offender?

It may be of note that he left the country (Canada) for Iceland about 1.5 years into our relationship, the hard drive with the pornography is located in Iceland. He is a citizen of both countries however.

Until last month, the age of consent in Canada was 14, so I don't think this necessarily qualifies him for sex offender status, but it is still worth your while to take this up with someone more familiar with Canadian law.
