Default Default On Debt From Private Car Sale
My question involves court procedures for the state of: NJ

A family friend came here recently over from another country. He and his wife and daughter are here ilegally. My family and I wanted to finance a car for him. We put all the paperwork in my name and had a verbal agreement with him that he would send the check payments to the bank which he did dutifully for all of last year. Lately he's decided he doesn't want the car anymore and I am stuck with the finance bills. Even though there was no written agreement can I take my family member to court in order that he pay the rest that is owed on the car?

Is your name on the title?

1) If so go get the car

2) Sell the car and pay off the lender

3) Dont do this in the future for anyone else.

First off, the most important info needed is whose name is on the title.
