Default Parental Legal Rights Of 17 Year Old In Indiana
I live in Indiana. My son, was in some trouble with the law...on his 17 birthday they(the court) decided to waive him into adult court. They took him from the junivelle detention to adult jail. Was this legal for them to do...I thought that you had to be 18 before being placed with adults ?

For certain crimes or certain habitual offenders, the court may decide to try the minor as an adult.

Without more detail, I cannot help more.

There are groups advocating for legislation to prevent minors from being housed in adult jails, but most states presently allow it.
