Default High Credit Interest
A family member has been hit with very high credit card interest rates due to some switching of cards and missing some small print. Their card was used to pay for help for a eating disorder of one of their girls-the expense was very high but was imparative for her life. I do not want them to refiance their house for this. Is there any help for them. If I understand correctly the credit card bank will not come down on interest rates to help them. I do not want to see them lose everything but I can't do anything to help them . Is there a legal way to get that interest rate lowered to a normal rate?

Default Refinancing Credit Card Debt
Actually, refinancing their house or getting a home equity loan may be the cheapest and easiest way to take care of the debt. The credit card company is not obligated to lower the interest rate. They may be able to shift the debt to a different credit card if they have one which offers a lower interest rate - but that's probably more of a stop gap solution than a resolution.
