Default Repo In California When Car Is Almost Paid For
My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: California

Purchased vehicle 6 years ago, assumed car loan was paid off in Oct. 2007 at end of 72 month loan term. Notified in Feb.2008 that debt was still due on car in regard to some type of disability insurance. Was unable to pay at the time due to unemployment. Spoke with lender which is credit union of my previous employer 3 weeks ago and agreed to make payments on final debt of $1160 which is total owed. Last night, car was almost repo'd. Spoke with repo man and he agreed not to take because he didnt feel it was right to take car for last 2 car payments! (Thank goodness). Credit union unavailable all day when tried to contact. Any suggestions?

Keep trying until you get through, then pay off the balance. See if you can check your loan balance online.
