Termination of guardianship

Under what circumstances, if any, may a guardian terminate their guardianship prior to the minor turning 18? Would it require the services of a lawyer to do so?

It will depend upon the nature and terms of the guardianship. Court action will typically be required, as in most cases the minor will require appointment of a successor guardian.
