Driver's License Suspension Over Unpaid Child Support

My question involves child support in the State of: Florida:

Divorced in 1978, paid support, then was told children adopted, so didn't have to send support, stupid as I should have known, it couldn't be done without me., never the less many years later,she wants support, children not adopted, court sets up a weekly payment plan for two children, and puts in a civil judgment for $21,000. Pay my support as the court ordered and when finished the court now said I have a support arrearges of $21,000., been fighting for years, but the jest of my problem is that I went to child court in Alabama and got a modification in the amount and the court ordered that it was to be taken out of my Social Security check monthly, which is fine, but I found out that my Florida License was suspensed, I have been paying the support monthly for the last two years from my SS, if I go to the Alabama License Bureau they will see that my license was suspended in Florida and won't issue me a Alabama license, Can I get a Alabama judge, where the modification was issued to sign a affidavit stating that I have made arrangements for the payments and they are forever and are paid by the government and have this Alabama Judge sign a Affidavit as to such to the Alabama Drivers Bureau so I can get a Alabama Drivers License?

Which state's CSE agency suspened your DL?

Take copies to the CSE showing the payments made and request that they give you a release to reinstate your DL. As long as you are making the agreed upon payments, your DL shouldn't have been susspended, so it may have just been a computer mess up, or a human mess up.

The state of Florida suspended my Florida license, but I have been living in Alabama for the past four years, just found out about my suspension, Florida transferred my case to Alabama for collection and have been to court in Alabama where I received a modification and my Social Security is being deducted the amount the court decreed, these deductions have been going on for the past two years and will continue the rest of my life, why can't I go to the court in Alabama and have a Judge sign the proper forms for Alabama for me to get a Alabama license, as my Florida license has expired anyway.And I live in Alabama permanetly.

Speak to your Alabama CSE caseworker about how to have the suspension lifted. Normally, when FL DOR suspends a DL, they will give the NCP a voucher that can be taken to the DMV, once the NCP has made arrangements to pay the arrears. Your caseworker should know what to do for you to be able to get an Alabama DL.
