Default Removing A Misdemeanor Charge In North Carolina

My question involves criminal law for the state of: NC

Back in 2005 I was arrested and convicted in a bad check scam (atempt to obtin items under false pretenses) , you know one of those oversees check cashing scams. The judge entered in a prayer for judgement. Now I live in NJ and would like to know if there is anything i can do to get this expunged, sealed, or something so i can go back to working for a decent company? Every company that I Apply for tells me that they cant accept me because of the nature of the crime? Is there any thing i can do?

You can contact the Clerk of Courts in the county in which you were convicted for instructions for how to apply for an expungement.

You can find some general information here for Wake County.
