Default What If The State Can Not Locate The Biological Father

My question involves adoption law for the State of: Michigan

My son is the product of a summer fling I actually miscarried by the same guy I now have a son with he gave me what I had believed was accurate information such as his full name and date of birth but when he found out that I was pregnant he deleted all his email accounts and moved out of state my issue is the state has looked for him for Child Support but none of the info he gave me seems to be correct I believe he lied about his age but am sure of his last name which my son does carry. So since the state can not locate him nor can any online people finders can my fiance whom has been here since the moment my son came into this world adopt him as his own I have checked on the Putative father law in MI and according to that the Bio-father has no rights to my son now that it has been year but we want to be sure.

First off you will need to be married first and most likely for at least one year. Next contact an Attorney to see what measure need be taken for this to take place. Its possible "sevice by publication" may suffice. States laws vary so you need an Attorney
