Boyfriend Trying To Evict Girlfriend

My question involves an eviction in the state of: Michigan

My Aunt has lived with her boyfriend for at least 5 years now. They live in his home. She gives him a certain amount of money every time she gets paid. They have no lease or contract signed for her to live there. He just verbally asked her to move in. Their relationship is coming to it's end in this near future. She is worried that when she takes her 1 week vacation he is going to throw her out.

My question is: If she has lived for at least 5 consecutive years and also gives him money to help pay bills, does he or does he not have to give her at least a 30-60 day notice?

She is very worried, so I hope someone can give me an answer to this, or at least give me some tips on what she can do.

If she can prove a tenancy, she can try to sue him if he locks her out. He can reply, "She moved out on [the date she went on vacation]."

If they're breaking up, why doesn't she simply find a new place to live and move her stuff there. That way she doesn't have to fret about what he may or may not do.
