My question involves criminal law for the state of New York. My son was given a summons one night for trespassing (he was "hanging out" with some friends at a local elementary school after hours). He had to go to court before a judge and was given a fine to pay. My questions are:
1) Does this "Violation" stay on his record?
2) Does this mean he was "convicted" of a crime, meaning, if filling out job applications and the like, does he have to reveal that he "pled guilty" to a Violation?
