Default Determining Paternity Rights
12 years ago there was a question as to the paternity of a young ladies child. I was the friend and she had a boyfriend. When this first came up I told her to blame it on her boyfriend that we were just messing around. Well now her daughter is 12 and wants to know who her bio father is. She asked me to take a paternity test and I agreed. We haven't taken the test yet what should I look for as the pitfalls for taking such a test. I know there will be a child support issue. Her boyfriend has never paid and if I'm Identified will I be held liable for the past 12 years. We're in Ohio.

Default Paternity, 12 years later
Is her boyfriend identified as the father on the birth certificate?

I really don't know. If he is what should I do. Do I still go with the test.

Default Paternity Issues
If you don't know, it is impossible to know the ramifications of agreeing to a paternity test. You should consult a local lawyer.
