Former Girlfriend Moving Out

My question involves a roommate in the State of: New York

My ex girlfriend and I broke up in Feb 2008. She's been looking for a new place to move into for the last month and finally found one. last week she presented me with a list of items that she owns and items that we both went half and half on and an estimate on their value. I'm fine with her taking certain items that we split together but refuse to give her certain others even though she claims she going to take them anyway and might sell some of the other items. My question to this is: am I obligated to pay her for her half of the money she put in for the stuff I'm keeping even though it's ALL under my name and I have the receipts? She willingly paid half and we NEVER had a verbal or written contract or agreement for me to reimburse her half. If she dragged this out to court, which I don't think she will, is there a case against me?

Probably. You purchased them together for the use of the household, so she has equal claim.
