Default Assault and Battery of Police
This happened in Pennsylvania:
A friend came home drunk and battered his brother and mother. The police were called. When the police tried to arrest my friend, he head butted one of the police officers. Other than another officer, no one witnessed this. Police told family to "Get out of the room or they would be arrested as well." Friend is mentally ill and was intoxicated at the time, doesn't remember what happened. Does anyone know of any case law in Pennsylvania about this? What is the maximum minimum jail sentence? Is this considered a first, second, or third degree felony? I really appreciate any information!

Default Battery of a Police Officer
What crimes has your friend been charged with violating? The statutes under which he is charged, along with any applicable state sentencing guidelines, will define his penalty.
