Misdemeanor After Citizenship Application

yesterday I received the letter from USCIS that I have to appear on July for my interview for Citizenship but I can't go to this interview because two months ago I was charged for a misdemeanor due to obtain I.D. using False Info. I called an Inmigration Lawyer and he told me that do not appear at the interview because I have to say the true and this issue may affect my application for Citizenship and I asked him also if this problem is going to affect my permanent resident, and he said no because it is my first time that I have something in my record and also is a misdemeanor, just complete my probation time and stay out of problem!. But I forgot to ask him how long I have to wait to reapply for Citizenship again?
Can someone answer this question for me?

Unless you have your record expunged, you're still going to have to disclose this information when you re-apply. Expungement isn't available for every crime in every state.

You should call a different lawyer.

I live in N.C. and probably I need to find out if I have to do this but How long I have to wait to reapply for Citizenship?

Some people said that I have to wait 3 years others said 5 years.
But I want to know the right answer.
