Default Trial By Declaration, But Now It Says Court Trial

My question involves traffic court in the State of: california

Ok filed for TWD...but now I look on the website and I see that I have to do court trial? what does that mean perhaps? does that mean the CHP officer wants to say something? How did it turn into a court trial instead of a TWD? why didnt they just say guilty or not guilty in writting? Havent recieved and letters yet but noticed it online.

What were you charged with? It could simply be a mistake (yes, that happens in many courts in California). Normally, I would suggest you call the court's clerk and find out what the disposition of the case was and not rely on the website.

However, since your chances of getting anything other than a recorded message is unlikely, you may need to go to the court in order to get the straight scoop. At least that way, you will know exactly how to proceed. My best guess is that it was a mistake. Let us know!

OK this is what I found out...on the site it said court trial..but when I called and spoke to a human...well kinda...they said it was a mistake on the court website...and that was the decision date for my TBD..so basically I got worked up for nothing...things are still looking good..I spoke to a cop friend of mine and he said since I told them about me possibly joining the LAPD and other things in the letter that the judge might throw it out...:-( lets hope.
