CPS took children away

CPS took children a few weeks ago. When they took the children out of the house the worker did not give a reason for why the children were being taken away.

I live California, does CPS have to give a reason upon removing the children from the home? How can i fight CPS?

Normally, if they intend to enter your house and take your children against your will, they will be accompanied by the police and will present you with a court order or warrant. Knowing nothing of what happened, I don't know if they acted inappropriately.

I assume that by now you have been served with a petition explaining the basis for the removal, and probably have already been to court.

The CPS worker showed up, talked to everyone in the house, left for about 20 minutes like she said she was going to do to call her supervisor. When she came back she brought a police officer to take the kids. Never said why or and we never saw a warrant or anything explaining why. Now what can we do?
