    Default Unjust Termination

I was terminated in January of this year for something i was not responsible for. My initial unemployment claim was denied but upon the appeal i won it. The human resource that was in the appeal said i should not have been terminated under the company policy.
The Dept manager fired me over the phone. And he also fired me back in 2001 at another plant which was not my fault at all.
My supervisor at the time told me that herself.
Do i have a case in this matter? Or is their a statue of limitations on this matter. I live in Georgia.

    Default Unemployment & Wrongful Termination

The fact that you are entitled to receive unemployment benefits does not, of itself, mean that your termination was wrongful. You may wish to discuss your situation in detail with a plaintiff-side employment lawyer in your state.

    Default Call an attorney

I would check with attorneys in your area who offer FREE advice to see if you have a case. I am glad you were able to get unemployment.

Even if you are currently receiving unemployment benefits, it may not stop your former employer from appealing the decision in your favor. If they do this and win, you would have to pay back all the money you received from unemployment. I currently collect on this kind of debt, so I see this happen on a daily basis.

    Default Wrongful Termination

Wow, I am glad I read your post. So how do employees PROTECT themselves against having to pay back their ex employer? It is like you NEED the unemployment until you can locate another source of income, so you can not afford to not take the unemployment - but you are saying that you may have to pay it back. The repayment is find if the employee has located another source of income.
