Re: Investigating Company Before Accepting Employment
Four ways to help you determine corporate culture:
1. Ask someone who works at the company to tell you about its atmosphere and corporate culture.
2. Ask some of your networking contacts who they know that work there.
3. Ask your interviewer to introduce you to some of the employees. Then, check out the company’s atmosphere with them. The first three examples require you to use your ears to understand the information you seek. The next and last example is about using your eyes.
4. Arrive early at interviews so you can ask where the washroom is. On your way, check out the facilities, observe some employees at work, and check out their body language.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
