My Neighbor Called Police. Can I Sue?

My question involves civil rights in the State of: NEW YORK
my neighbor asked me if I Had cut and trimmed his trees on the side of his house and who gave me permission to do it and put wood chips bead under the trimmed trees.Honestly I thought he was kidding because it is not my property and I would never do such a thing.I said (kidding) dint I did a good job? and then I continued saing You Finlay fixed nice and he said no you did it and now I wont to Know WY and I will sue you I know of your business that you are doing in your house and I will get you to pay for every damage and report you to the town !!
I thought maybe he was drunk so I went on my way to clean my yard.Dont go too far he said I'M calling the police.After the police came they talked for a few minutes and the officer and my neighbor came toward me and said Every thing it;s OK we found who did it. the officer said shake hands like nothing has happened. I'M thinking is there any thing I can do legally for Wat happened?

I do not want to sue anybody but I ask you the experts out there Can any body accuse and make false statements to you and call police on top of all,and you just sit back and shut-up? and pretend that he never said or done anything wrong?
