Default How Long Is A Judgement For Collection Good

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California. I have just been sent a letter of collection after 9 years or more for a debt I paid. Yet the court has no record of it and I cannot find my copy any longer. It has been over 7 years now, Can they still try to collect?

If I am not mistaken, California judgments are good for 10 years and are renewable, I believe once so that would be 20 years if they renewed the judgment.
I am not an attorney and any advice is not to be construed as legal advice. You might even want to ignore my advice. Actually, there are plenty of real attorneys that you might want to ignore as well.

I agree - Ca. judgment good for 20 yrs. if renewed.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
