Default Shoplifting
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: CA

okay i was caught shoplifting a bracelet that was 20$ i was charged with petty thief and this is my first offense i am also a minor. can anyone tell me what will happen to me. i dont want to go to juvi. please help. thanks

Most likely outcome, community service, probation, fines (civil and criminal)...

my daughter was caught shoplifting a $10 item, Probation interviewed all of us in the house. And since it was her 1st time getting in trouble they did a referal to the court that she not be charged. She did have to keep a clean record for 1 yr or charges could be refiled. NOW the store she stole from was able to sue me the parent for up to $1,000.00. Which they sent me a bill for $200.00 and I gladly paid it. You must be completely honest and stay out of trouble. When you are given a 2nd chance be thankful.
