    Default Slip and Fall Injury

Consult a local lawyer about the viability of a personal injury action against the store, or if you prefer consider bringing an action on your own in small claims court.

does it matter that they were working on the machine when we entered the store? that they were aware of the leaking machine and made no effort to cleani t up or fix it?

Default Slip and fall from pop machine

It could - but it could cut two ways. Their awareness makes them responsible to clean up the floor to protect customers; but your observation of them working on it could be argued to have put you on notice that there might be liquid on the floor.

(If they were making no effort to fix the machine, what do you mean by stating that they were working on it?)

it looked like they were working on it, but if they were actually trying to fix it, why did it still leak water??when they called an ambulance, no effort to clean it up was made until my stepfather said something about, nd they just put a ladder in front of the isle.

Typically stores will deny liability until they are looking at a trial, no matter what the circumstances. Follow Mr. Knowitall's suggestion and see a lawyer. I imagine that something can be worked out with your doctors to pay them out of the setlement.
