Today my wife received a bill from the San Joaquin County Treasurer & Tax Collector Revenue and Recovery Division for a bill stemming from a hospital stay in August of 1998 at the San Joaquin General Hospital (county hospital).

My understanding was statute of limitations in California for medical bills was 4 years. Is this correct?
