My question involves civil rights in the State of: Colorado
My Harley davidson was parked in a lined area near the bicycle rack, there is no signs stating a fire lane. Was told by previous manager of complex i could park it there. I dont garage the bike here, i just left it there overnite one night, a tow company told the manager if she didnt have it moved she would get fined by city, although i had parked it there all last summer without any problems. she stated the tow driver was doing a routine check in complex seeking out vehicles without parking stickers to tow. I had no warning or was even contacted about moving the bike and it was towed an hour and half after she arrived to work. is it legal for a tow company to solicit towing without any warning in this state? I had to pay 191.00 to retrieve bike and would like my money back, the tow ticket stated it was in a fire lane altought there were no signs. I have pictures of area and if it is a fire lane then why do the kids bike rack be set up there? I contacted the the property management office, I asked if a visitor were to park in our lot and didnt have a parking sticker would they be towed? there answer was they had to be warned first. so why wasnt a warning posted on the bike and on my door. I had found out from a neighbor about the event and they said i wasnt home, according to tow ticket I was home at that time. This new manager has hired this tow company under contract and I just need to know if they can come in and pick and chose who gets towed that day without warning... thankyou
