Default Understanding Credit Report Entry
My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: California

Hello,
A few years ago my GMC truck was repossed and sold. I was tolded I owed the difference of $2,000. On my credit report it says:

G M A C

Status:
Transferred,closed/Account charged off. $15,246 written off.

Creditor's Statement:
Purchased by another lender.

Account History:
Charge Off as of Jun 2005
Repossession as of Jun 2005, May 2005
60 days as of May 2005
30 days as of Apr 2005

Does this mean I still owe the $15,246 or it really means the account is closed?

Thank You

If you still owe them money on the truck, their closing the account does not prevent them from pursuing you for the money you owe.
