My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: CA
i have a pretty clear cut scenario. i had a flawless move-out, i saw the walk- through inspection and it was 100% fabulous. the company who owns my former apt has withheld my sec. deposit with no reason and no notification. they won't respond to any contact, including a certified letter citing the legal code they are in violation of & the apt. manager is useless. it's been 3 months, they are WAY delinquent in providing my deposit.
i'd love to get my $ back and get on with my life- is there any recourse for me? any powers that be who advocate for this sort of thing? or is suing the only option?
