Default Dealer Wants To Repo Paid Off Trailer
Dealer gave me two diff payoff so I got the contract and all my canceled checks together and learned I over paid him 1600.00. and he says I still owe him three payments. I showed him all my payments and he still will not release the title and now he wants to repo. I'm looking for a lawyer in Va now, thats were the dealer is I live in Pa Any ideas

I would start with requesting an accounting (with his numbers) so he can show you where this additional money is supposedly due.

then, if he does not find his mistake and you cannot convince him you are correct, you have little recourse other than take the action you are headed for now.

I tryed with dealer. When I bought the trailer I put 4000.00 down in cash and have the recipt. Two months later I put another 4000.00 down plus my monthly payment. He says the second 4000.00 was the origanal down payment. Even tho I have two recipts for 4000.00.

Okay... so start getting together the documentation that you in fact made two $4,000 payments, not just the one the dealer admits receiving.

I have the contract with down payment and went to bank and got copys of all checks. The sales person who I did the deal with has died and the owner took over .
Right now I'm trying to get a lawyer in Va to handle this. Again I live in Pa and trailer is titled in pa.
Question is should I just payoff trailer to stop repo then sue? So far he made no atemps to repo. Its a simi trailer and its hooked to my truck. So if he repos can he mess with my truck which he has no intrest in? He has to move my truck to unhook trailer.
