My question involves defamation in the state of: Texas
I have had difficulties with my boss, and in a review process stated that I removed university property, falsified time records and undocumented dissapearances from work?
I had taken a drawing tablet home for the holidays, (to practice on) notified my boss the next day when she was in the office, she got all nervous and had me sign papers. Which was fine, I apologized and did not realize I had broken a rule. The time card thing was an honest mistake on my part, I had lost some of my notes because of a death and funeral in the family and was stressed. Just One time! The last comment is strange, we work in separate buildings and use Instant Messenger to keep tabs on everyone. I do know someone called my attention to the fact that I showed "IDLE" when in fact I was not. There are different versions of this software and not all have the current installed, I did.
There are personality issues and I do believe she has been trying to make me quit. Many other incidences, but this is in writing.
I have quit, but cannot apply for another Texas University because of these inflammatory remarks, i am not a sue happy person and am not acquainted about my rights, but this looks like libel.
I also went on an interview yesterday and was NOT ready for the question"What would your last supervisor say of you?" Very uncomfortable.
Any advice would be appreciated
Before our meeting she had my access cut off the server but would not explain and asked me to continue working until our meeting, although I could not.
