Default Where Do I Go From Here?
California

Hello and think you for caring enough to read this.

About 18 months ago I was broadsided with a telephone call from management to leave a state office where I had performed above expectations for two years, according written appraisals by 2 previous supervisors. Likely, a constituant had made a call asking if their relative could have my office -- and it was done! The event made me ill. I was hung out to dry by the union rep and union attorney. The agency then late separated me from state service while I was continuing to be treated for a psyche injury. I was so messed up, I did not have the doctors note that was sent to EDD for continuing the state disability insurance.

Now, my work comp attorney tells me the best that can be expected is a "compromise and release" settlement and that going to trial may mean I get nothing. I am so floored by this. I worked so hard and it was the prime of my life. I have repeatedly reapplied for this same job and 4 months and 12 interview later, nada.

Would welcome any feedback.

Thanks

To make sure that I understand this, you're trying to claim that the trauma of being fired was so severe that you should be able to claim worker's compensation? If so, that's a novel theory; I'm not surprised that your lawyer is worried about what would happen at trial.
