I moved into a rental home in Philadelphia, PA in Nov. After a few shoddy dealings with the landlord over repairs that needed to be made (the shower has been leaking through the living room cieling thru the light fixture for two months sorts of things) - I am now in the process of purchasing a home and talking to my landlord about ending the lease early. He agreed to break the lease 4 months early - and keep the security deposit (which he is saying is 2 months of rent) plus I'll have to pay him an additional month for which I won't be there. This seems a little steep especially since I am giving 3 months notice. If he finds someone to rent by July 1 can he still keep my security deposit? And make me pay an additional month's rent?
