Income For Emancipation In New York

Child support ends at 21 or "emancipation" -- and my attorney told me that if the child, say at age 19 is working (not in school full time) and makes at least $13,000, they would be considered emancipated. I can't verify that income amount anywhere. Help with definition/parameters of "emancipation" for stopping child support.

Why are you not taking your Attorneys advice? Instead your coming to a forum of unknown persons of unknown backgrounds.

Our attorney commenting on the $13,000 was not advice, but mentioned in passing, as it's a few years away. We came to this forum as it's called "expertlaw" and I thought someone might know where the parameters for emancipation income might be referenced. I'm not looking for a legal opinion here, just a site/source to verify this information.
