Default Pursuing Legal Action Against Makers Of Tetracycline

My mother was prescribed Tetracyclene in 1963 when she was pregnant with me. Obviously when i was born i had an extremely bad case of grey and dis-coloured teeth which has been medically proved that Tetracyclene was the cause.
I am looking into taking legal action over the drug company responsible for this and was wondering does anyone know of any past cases (im in the UK) etc with the drug company.
Or does anyone have any advice how i start the ball rolling with this case.

You indicate you are in the UK - this is mainly US law. You can do a google search on the drug & any possible law suits. Of course, you can always talk to an attorney. 1963 has been quite some time ago.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Unfortunately, I do think you're well outside the SOL for the UK.

And...again, unfortunately, tetracycline can produce those side effects; it's not likely that you can seek action as the effects are and were already known, and don't involve malpractice or negligence.

You would have to prove that the drug company knew about this, hid this knowledge and deliberately deceived the public. In addition, you have to prove damages (no damages = no case); as there are many restorative treatments available it seems the best you could hope for would be reimbursement for those treatments.

Also, please bear in mind that medmal cases can become enormously expensive, and this might be a common reason why many lawyers simply won't take a case - even one with merit - unless there's a higher-than-likely chance of there being a large pay-out at the end.

Good luck though, and let us know what happens.
