Income For Emancipation In New York

What are the specific parameters of emancipation in New York State i.e. our attorney told us that any income amount over $13,000/year would be considered financial emancipation for a child between 16 and 21. Is there a site that gives specific details on NY State emancipation law to verify this?

Like it was said that there is no statute but even if there was I really don't see how someone can live off of $1,083 a month especially in an area like New York.

Is this for Taxes? Or the child wants to be emancipated?

We understand there is no Emancipation Statute in NY, but there are still parameters used in Family Court to determine if a child is emancipated in regard to stopping child support payments. We're not in NY City, but in the "other" New York and $13,000 is not great, but a person can support themselves on it here. That was the amount quoted to us, but we were hoping to find specific criteria used in Family Court in NY regarding this.
