Post Children Not Going To School On A Regular Basis

I live in CA and my husbands ex just recently moved and after the move both of his children hadn't got to school for a month. They were put in school for a week but are now back out again because the mother says they are sick. When we had them over the weekend there was no sign of any sickness. We are going on the second week and they are still not going to school. I need to know what I can do about this and would this be grounds for my husband to get custody of the two girls.

Also to be noted they were out of school for three weeks before the move for no reason other than the mother having problems with her husband.

I have no idea if this is grounds for a change of custody.

It certainly doesn't look good for mom if there is not a legitimate reason for keeping them from going to school.

Has your husband reported the truancy to the school? Maybe because of the move the children being absent has gone unnoticed.

He would call the school where his children are enrolled and suppose to be attending; ask to speak to the truancy officer. If a truancy officer is not available he should ask to speak with someone that is in charge of handling truancy issues.

He should explain who he is and his concern that <childrens' names> have not been attending school.....

Ok thanks....I will have my husband do that. I would still like to also know from anyone else if this situation betters my husbands chance at getting custody of the two girls?
