How To Change Venue And Request A Stenographer For Traffic Court

I am in california. I have done my trial by declaration found guilty. Now for the trial in person.

I need to know how to request to change my venue to the county seat. I know it is within my right to request to have my trial at the county seat if it is closer to my work and home.

Also how do I request a court stenographer for my trial. I also understand that this is within my rights.

It would be best if there are form for this but I have looked already at http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/forms/ and both are not there.

I believe you need to contact the clerk of courts in the county in which you were ticketed.

Also, note, that the request to have your ticket heard is your right when invoked at the time of the citation - not after. You DO, however, have the right to request a change of venue to elsewhere in the county, but the court is under no obligation to agree to it.

Contact the clerk of the court to find out how to make such a request.
