I lived in the US for 13 years, since I was 8 years old. When I was about to turn 21 I went back to my home country for a month cause I had plans on fixing my legal status in the US; but when I was re-entering the US I was not allowed re-entry because the immigration officer found out I had overstayed so long and I had been working and studying there. My visa was cancelled and I was deported. They gave me a 5 year bar. The 5 years have already long passed, and since then I graduated from college in Trinidad and currently I'm working in Trinidad with a work permit. I applied for a visa about 13 months ago, and was denied stating that I had to wait 5 more years. Why do I have to wait 5 more years? Now, I want to study medicine in the US, and I want to know what do I have to do to be able to re-enter the US, first to write the MCAT and second to be able to study there. Thanks for all your help.
