Unhappy Is This Grounds For A "Forced Quit"? California

My employer owns commercial real estate bought with funds of tenant-in-common investors. Many of our loans are in default, we are getting lawsuits and threats of lawsuits every day. The investors haven't received monthly payments for several months. We have been told there are only funds for payroll through the end of March, but every payroll there are rumors of no funds. My firm is under investigation by several agencies. After several others have quit, the remaining people are extremely overworked and stressed. Plus, some of us fear an angry investor will actually show up with a gun, and that the owners/executives may be misappropriating funds. I can not take it any more, but I am sole support for my household and will face financial ruin if I can't get unemployment. Do I have grounds for a forced quit?

Who told you that there will be no funds for payroll after March?
Did they give you this information in writing?

The CEO of the company told a group of workers last week that we should all start looking for work, because he had payroll covered through the end of the month, but was uncertain after that. Nothing was put in writing. Although he did give some of the employees notice that he planned to transfer them to other companies that he owns.
