U.S. Resident Alien Skipping Out On Probation

Hi Everyone... I have a question regarding a friend of mine who recently left the country to return to his home country in the EU while on probation. He was a resident alien here and does not plan on returning anytime soon except perhaps some day for a visit. My question has two parts: one will the warrant/violation charge in any way follow him to his home country? He was on 3 yrs probation for a DWI. Also, if he ever did want to return to the U.S I would like some insight into the statute of limitations on this kind of charge. Thanks so much. The advice is appreciated.

There is no "statute of limitations" on a probation violation.

I doubt that a DWI charge is covered by the extradition treaty between the U.S. and whatever other nation is involved, but he'll have to verify that himself.
