Default Sexual Harrassment At Work, With Retalliation After Filing Grievance

    North Carolina..........

I know of a young lady that was being sexually harrassed at work by her director. Not only was she experiencing the harrassment, but others were also. She and two long-time employees were moved to other jobs to prevent a "stink". Now that this employee has been transferred to the HR Dept. part-time, she is continuosly being harrassed about the least little thing. She is never out of work, always on time and goes above and beyond to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. But it just doesn't seem to help. She is experiencing severe migranes from all the stress she is going thru. She loves her work and is a very dedicated employee. Some of the directors seem to get a "thrill" out of trying to demean the "little guys". This is so morally wrong. The Director that was harrassing the women got away with it................he is now an executive director. What's wrong with this picture?

Also, her current director has tried to get her to "rat" on employees. She told her that she was "branding" herself by not doing this. How can one get away with harrassing a extremely hard-working, intelligent employee in this manner? If the women had their time to go back over with, I am sure that they would have obtained a plantiff-employment attorney. Is there anything that can be done in a legal aspect?

    Thank you so much!!!!!!!!

What is the statute of limitation? How long does she have to file?

It doesn't appear that the worker is suffering sexual harassment. The information provided indicates that the worker complained several months ago to management about sexual harassment by the director. Management acted, and according to the poster, the worker no longer works with the alleged harasser.

It's not clear who is harassing her now or why, but there is nothing to indicate that the harassment is sexual. The poster suggests that the treatment may stem from the worker's refusal to "rat" on employees. If so, that doesn't violate federal law.

Thank you.....actually the harrassment now is not sexual, but she has been continually singled out for any and everything you could imagine. The whole problem appears to be coming from the initial sexual harrassment grievance that was filed. They don't like waves....and they don't want anyone making them. This is a state government employer with a county school system. It would appear that their morals would be of higher standards. It just doesn't seem fair that you have to suffer for talking with someone about not feeling comfortable with the sexual harrassment that is happening around you in the workplace, especially if you are a very professional employee. I appreciate your input. And welcome more!
