Social Security Disability Benefits and Workers Comp

I was recently approved for disablity benifits due to an accident in my work truck. i also recieve WC benefits . I live in Texas. the question. Am I required to tell WC about by new status as disabled. I feel as thought they already know, since I had to disclose all my WC infor to SSA

I don't believe that Texas has an offset provision, so I don't think that there is a deduction from your worker's compensation benefits based on your SSI. However, you should tell them just to be safe. Otherwise you may find that you are paying back benefits, or having them taken out of future checks, when they figure out that you didn't tell them about the Social Security.
