I live in Nashville, Tennessee, and I went through a rough time in the early 80s, during which time I was arrested for shoplifting and was convicted of DUI in 1986. I have a totally clean record since then and have excellent standing in the community. Those dark days of my past seem like another lifetime, but these blemishes on my record always seem to come back and haunt me. Is there any legal recourse to have these things removed from my record? From what I have read they do not qualify for expungement, but maybe I am wrong. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
