Angry Summons For Credit Card Debt
Hi, I live in MA & I just received a summons for an old Capital One credit card. I had the card in 1998 & it was originally for $2500. The law firm is asking for $6400 for it. Am I really going to have to pay that amount? It's crazy. Is there a statute of limitations & is it true they can send me a 1099 for that amount. What should I do?

Kind of odd they would wait 10 years to summon you to court. Have you recieved any type of bill or collection letter from them over the last 10 years?
